Listen. I’m not a doctor. I don’t know most medical things. But I’m pretty confident that the guy you want running point on a rodent-borne viral hemorrhagic fever response is NOT the guy who spent his career installing hydraulic cylinders into penises
And look, I respect penile implant specialists. That is a REAL job that requires REAL training and I would imagine a VERY specific bedside manner. Incredible work. Genuinely. But hantavirus attacks your lungs. Not your penis. These are different organs. I checked.
The most unhinged part is that this isn’t even surprising anymore. Not even close. We are so deep into the bit that a story gets posted to NotTheOnion and everyone just goes “yeah sounds right” and keeps scrolling.
Alas.
Somewhere out there a rodent is breathing on someone in New Mexico and the cavalry riding in to save us has a very specialized set of skills that are, medically speaking, completely useless in this situation.
