Baby Born With A Full Mustache Breaks The Internet
By Scott Willson · 2026-10-25
I want this baby to be real more than I've wanted anything in a long time. A kid comes out in a hospital in Ecuador, wrapped in a towel on a bed with blue sheets, and he's got a thick dark mustache and a goatee that most 30 year old guys would kill for. The clip has millions of views and the whole internet lost its mind over it.

The problem is it's almost definitely fake. People who slowed it down noticed the mustache doesn't move with his face, it flickers, and the light on it doesn't match the rest of the room, which is exactly what an AI filter looks like. No hospital, no doctor and no family has come forward to say this kid exists. And that's the part that gets me, cause nobody cared. Millions of views, memes of the baby in a military uniform and a Mario costume, and almost nobody stopped to ask if any of it was real.
I don't know about you but that freaks me out a lot more than a hairy baby would. If a filter on a TikTok can get millions of people to believe a newborn grew a goatee in the womb, imagine what the same stuff can do with something that actually matters. We used to say pics or it didn't happen, and now the pics are the least trustworthy thing on the internet.
Sidenote: the comments are better than the video. Somebody wrote that he was born retired with three kids and two mortgages, and I can't stop thinking about it. VICE even went through the real reasons newborns come out hairy, like lanugo or a reaction to a parent's hair growth medication, and none of them look anything like this. I'm still going to tell people it's real.
